Polka Dot Pockets

The stats:
Pattern: Simplicity 2905
Modifications: added pocket with ric rac**, added ruffle to the hem, omitted snap tape from crotch, modified bodice***
Fabric: Alexander Henry bought at Hobby Lobby in Paducah several years ago; green polka dot cotton from Just Ducky warehouse sale
Total cost: about $15 (the Mini Boden version is on sale for $25)
Time spent: 5 hours total
**It took two tries to get the pocket the right size and shape.  The pocket's lined, and if I did it again it'd be smaller.
*** The pattern had a curved bodice, and I attempted a straight one like the Mini Boden version; however, I didn't taper it, so I had to modify it for Eliza's narrow chest. (That's also why the straps are so close together.)  The fit is just right.

She stood up from a squat all on her own and stayed standing for a minute!
